The posters for the 2026 Málaga Bullfighting Fair have been revealed. The Provincial Council of Málaga and the company Tauroemoción presented the bullfighting program for August at the María Victoria Atencia MVA Cultural Center, an edition that is especially significant as it coincides with the 150th anniversary of the La Malagueta Bullring.
The event brought together bullfighters, breeders, authorities, representatives of Málaga society, and numerous fans who filled the theater. During the presentation, the lineups for a fair featuring some of the leading figures of the moment were announced, including Morante de la Puebla, Roca Rey, Fortes, David de Miranda, and Emilio de Justo.
The program also recovers one of the hallmarks of the Málaga fair: the presence of major figures on more than one afternoon. Winners from recent seasons at La Malagueta and top-tier livestock ranches will also be present, highlighting the return of Victorino Martín after a 12-year absence from the Málaga ring.
The fair’s season ticket will consist of seven bullfights, two novilladas with picadors, and one rejones (horseback) bullfight. Outside of the season ticket, the National Bull-Leaping Competition will be held, while the International Málaga Bullfighting Schools Contest will include four novilladas without picadors as practical classes with free entry.
Notable events include the extraordinary “Sabor a Málaga” bullfight, the tribute to Málaga Club de Fútbol, the Youth Bullfight, and the extraordinary 150th anniversary bullfight of La Malagueta, which will close the fair on Saturday, August 22.
During the presentation, the launch of a study to measure the economic impact of the bullfighting fair on the province was also announced. The goal is to analyze the relevance of bullfighting tourism in Málaga and its influence on the city’s cultural, tourist, and economic activity during the fair dates.
The official image of the fair was created by the young Málaga artist Isabelita Lería, whose work will illustrate a historic edition for La Malagueta, a bullring declared a Site of Cultural Interest and one of Spain’s great bullfighting landmarks.
The 2026 Málaga Bullfighting Fair will be held from August 8 to 22, bringing together popular festivities, novilladas, rejones, and bullfights in a program marked by the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Málaga ring.
