A very entertaining Corrida de Toros Picassiana, with triumph of Juan Ortega

While the Sevillian matador cut two ears to the fifth bull of the afternoon, Cayetano and Pablo Aguado cut one ear each. The bullfighter Juan Ortega has been the winner of the traditional Corrida Picassiana last Saturday, April 8, in the bullring of Malaga, after cutting two ears to the fifth bull of the afternoon, in a beautiful and slow bullfight . This bullfight was held that day on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the death of the Malaga painter Pablo Picasso. A very entertaining afternoon of bullfighting, enlivened by the Symphonic Orchestra of Malaga, which had its climax in the fifth bull, when Juan Ortega made a great taste and temper to a good bull of the fighting bulls of Álvaro Núñez, fighting in slow motion. Cayetano cut an ear to the fourth bull, which, like his brothers, showed a touch of gentleness, and gave his performance to the painter Domingo Zapata, who designed his original suit of lights, in the Picasso fashion. In the third bull, Pablo Aguado fought mainly on the right hand against a bull that did not humiliate, with his face upwards, and managed to get some important tandas on that hand, exposing himself a lot and demanding the bull, which allowed him to cut the first ear of the afternoon. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the death of the Malaga painter Pablo Ruiz Picasso, the bullring was decorated with reproductions of works by different painters from Malaga, all related to bullfighting, such as Paco Hernandez, Eugenio Chicano, Celia Berrocal, Loren Pallatier or Humberto Parra. The Provincial Symphony Orchestra of Malaga conducted by Angel Lopez Carreño and accompanied by the Choir of the Lyric Academy of 16 voices directed by Luis Maria Pacetti also participated. Bulls of Álvaro Núñez, of unequal presentation and game. The first one was very well presented. Cayetano: two pinchazos, half and two descabellos (silence after warning); detached lunge (ear with request for the second). Juan Ortega: lightly detached thrust (ovation after a slight request); thrust (two ears). Pablo Aguado: stiff thrust (ear after warning); jab and thrust (silence). The bullring was close to full on a pleasant afternoon.
