🔹 August 14 – Novillada con picadores (young bulls with picadors)

  • Livestock: Antonio Rubio-Macandro
  • Bullfighters: Ignacio Candelas, Julio Méndez, López Ortega
    The novillada opens the fair with promising young bullfighters from bullfighting schools.

🔹 August 15 – Bullfight

  • Livestock: Criado Holgado
  • Bullfighters: David Galván (from Malaga, who took his alternative in La Malagueta in 2005), Borja Jiménez and Víctor Hernández .

🔹 August 16 – Bullfight

  • Livestock: Murteira Grave
  • Bullfighters: Pepe Moral, José Fernando Molina and Pablo Páez (who takes the alternative), which will be an afternoon of generational relay.

🔹 August 17 – “Corrida de rejones” (bullfighting on horseback)

  • Cattle ranches: Benítez Cubero – Pallarés
  • Rejoneadores: Sergio Galán, Diego Ventura, Ferrer Martín (the Malaga rejoneador Everton Ferrer, “Ferrer Martín”).

🔹 August 18 – Bullfight

  • Bullfighters: Morante de la Puebla, Saúl Jiménez Fortes (winner of the 2024 fair and the 2025 Picassian bullfight, who is doing a double this year) and Pablo Aguado. Note: Fortes and Morante will repeat in the fair, consolidating themselves as the central axis of the fair.

  • 🐂 CATTLE RANCHES OF THE FAIR OF MALAGA 2025

    1. Holgado Servant

    From Salamanca, this young but emerging cattle ranch has been consolidating itself in important fairs due to the fierce and brave character of its bulls. It stands out for its serious bulls, with transmission, ideal for bullfighters in evolution.

    Murteira Grave

    From Portugal, this legendary Alentejo cattle ranch is one of the most respected outside Spain. Their bulls are serious, with a strong and demanding character, coming from the Murube breed. They have been successfully fought in places such as Madrid and Bilbao.

    3. Torrealta

    Andalusian cattle ranching of Huelva, formed in origin by Domecq blood. It usually provides noble and classy bulls, suitable for artistic bullfighting. It has had recent triumphs in fairs such as Seville and Valencia.

    4. Victoriano del Río / Bulls of Cortés

    One of the most important currencies of the current field bravo, settled in Guadalix de la Sierra (Madrid). Famous for breeding quality bulls, with modern bravery. Famous bulls such as “Dalia” or “Cantapájaros” have come from here.

    5. El Puerto de San Lorenzo / La Ventana del Puerto (The Port Window)

    Livestock Salamanca with encaste Atanasio-Lisardo, known for the balance between strength and nobility. “La Ventana” is his second iron. It has had prominence in places like Madrid, Seville and Pamplona.

    6. The Freixo

    Belonging to the matador Julián López “El Juli”, it is bred in Olivenza (Badajoz). Encastada in Domecq, with low and well-made bulls, very much to the bullfighter’s taste. It is the chosen one for the final mano a mano of the fair.

    7. Benítez Cubero / Pallarés

    Two key bulls for bullfighting on horseback, bred in Marchena (Seville). Classics for rejoneo, with bulls that gallop and charge temperately. They appear in the “corrida de rejones”, traditional in the Malaga fair.

    8. Antonio Rubio Macandro

    Livestock of Murubeño origin, linked to the circuit of novilladas, noted for its good presentation and nobility. Ideal for bullfighters in training. Their bulls open the cycle with the novillada picada.


    🧔 OUTSTANDING BULLFIGHTERS IN MALAGA 2025

    🔹 Saúl Jiménez Fortes (Malaga, 1990)

    Local bullfighter who has lived a career of lights and shadows marked by very serious goring. His style is serious, vertical and deep. In 2024 he was the winner of the fair, which has earned him two afternoons this year, including the final mano a mano. He is considered a bullfighter of authenticity and artistic maturity.

    🔹 Morante de la Puebla (La Puebla del Río, Seville, 1979)

    Undisputed figure of modern bullfighting, a reference of classical, baroque and artistic bullfighting. He celebrated his 25 years of alternative in 2022. In Malaga he will also do a doublet (August 18 and 20), where he usually leaves memorable moments in the Picassiana bullfight.

    🔹 Roca Rey (Lima, Peru, 1996)

    A bullfighter of international dimension, he has been the leader of the bullfighting ranks for several years. His style combines dry courage, power and a great connection with the public. He will be at Cayetano’s farewell. Malaga is one of his most beloved bullrings in Spain.

    🔹 Cayetano Rivera Ordóñez (Madrid, 1977)

    Grandson of Antonio Ordóñez and brother of Francisco Rivera. He bids farewell to bullfighting in 2025. Elegant bullfighter, dynasty and emotionally charged. The afternoon of August 19 will be a historic farewell, accompanied by Roca Rey and David de Miranda.

    🔹 Alejandro Talavante (Badajoz, 1987)

    He fought very little in 2023-24, but returns to Malaga as a bullfighting figure of inspiration, depth and temperament. He will fight on August 20. He is remembered for his performances in Madrid and Seville.

    🔹 Juan Ortega (Seville, 1990)

    He is one of the most artistic bullfighters of the bullfighting career. His style is based on classicism, pure bullfighting and slowness. He participates in the bullfight on August 20.

    🔹 Emilio de Justo (Cáceres, 1983)

    A complete bullfighter, he has been gaining prestige for his solid performances in demanding bullrings. He will be the protagonist of the final mano a mano with Fortes, on August 21, an afternoon of serious bullfighting.

    🔹 David Galván (La Línea, Cádiz, 1991)

    Winner in several Andalusian squares, comes in full professional maturity. He will fight on August 15.

    🔹 Borja Jiménez (Espartinas, Seville, 1992)

    One of the revelation names of 2024 for his historic performance in the autumn fair in Madrid. He appears in Malaga as one of the most expected bullfighters.

    🔹 Víctor Hernández (Guadalajara, 1998)

    Young matador with good performances in second-tier bullrings. In Malaga will seek to consolidate.

    🔹 Pablo Páez (Seville, 2003)

    He will take the alternative at the fair, in the bullfight on August 16. A young bullfighter with a classic style.

    🔹 Sergio Galán / Diego Ventura / Ferrer Martín

    High level rejoneadores. Ventura is considered the world’s number one rejoneo. Ferrer Martín is from Málaga, and it will be his big local afternoon.


    The Malaga Fair 2025 mixes the weight of proven cattle ranches with the variety of encastes (Domecq, Murube, Atanasio, among others) and the attraction of seeing both established figures and young promises. Morante, Fortes, Roca Rey, Talavante or Juan Ortega are a guarantee of art, while names like Borja Jiménez or Emilio de Justo bring competition and freshness.

    A fair with soul, with Malaga identity, and with a clear commitment to the balance between tradition, emotion and spectacle.
